Republic P-47D ‘Thunderbolt’ 78th Fighter Group, 83rd Fighter Squadron Relic Display

This P-47D flew with the famous 78th Fighter Group out of RAF Duxford in late 1944. In September 1944, it was brought down by groundfire near Stockstadt am Rhein, Germany. The pilot escaped the aircraft. In 2014, aviation archeologist Uwe Benkel, recovered its substantial remains. 

Each P-47 part measures 3.5x1-inch and displays near-perfectly preserved undersurface camouflage gray on the exterior, at least one flush rivet, and zinc chromate green on the interior.

Each framed display is 13x19-inches overall size, 11x17 print size.
