Space Shuttle Columbia space-flown insulation blanket section paired with Ron Cole's original artwork of the shuttle Columbia in this wall-hanging framed display.

Space-flown insulation blanket, part number V070-366107-008. This component was flown on OV-102, the Space Shuttle Columbia, on mission STS-87 that launched from the Kennedy Space Center on November 19, 1997. The shuttle spent 15 days in space conducting a variety of experiments and returned to Earth on December 5. STS-87 was the 24th flight of Columbia. The shuttle was destroyed on its 28th mission (STS-107) during re-entry on February 1, 2003.
