I've had this extremely rare artifact belonging to an Italian Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero for many years and I've finally created a stunning piece of artwork of this aircraft to pair with pieces from this original artifact.

This aircraft attempted to deliver supplies to pressed Axis forces in North Africa on the night of April 27, 1943. It was shot down by coastal anti-aircraft fire and cannibalized for souvenirs by Allied personnel in the area. This original section of wing leading edge slat, made mostly of plywood, was salvaged and the details, date, and time of this aircraft’s loss was written upon the material. It was acquired by Cole's Aircraft from the veteran's estate in 2014.
This part bears well preserved original dark green camouflage paint, as reflected in the painting of this machine setting off on its last mission.
As the original artifact is quite small, each piece is 1x1-inches in size, and there will only be 40 relic displays made in this series.
DETAIL of ARTWORK:
Each display is 11x17-inches (artwork) and 13x19-inches overall including frame. Ready to hang. Signed and numbered (no more than 40 - the original part is small).
Our first Italian aviation subject!
