Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-4 Trop flown by 'Ace' Hans Dobrich relic display by Ron Cole. Authentic fragment from Dobrich's famous 'Yellow 10' 109, Werknummer 10169/10157, of 6./JG 5, lost in action near Murmansk (Dobrich parachuted to safety). Paired wth Ron Cole's original artwork of this specific aircraft in action. 11 x 17-inch wall hanging display with glass and black frame. Signed and numbered by the artist. Each duraluminum fragment, measuring roughly 4 x 2 inches, retains much of the original and unique RLM camouflage paint.

Hans Dobrich ended World War II credited with 65 ‘victories’. He flew with Jagdgeschwader 5 throughout his flying career, operating against Russian forces in and around Murmansk. He was shot down three times, the third occasion while flying this Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-4 Trop, Werknummer 10169. While most known photos show him with his 109 G-2 (at left), this F-4 Trop was the aircraft in which he attained most of his aerial ‘victories’. The outer wing of 10169 had been salvaged from another F-4 Trop, 10157, at an earlier time, and was excavated with the remains of 10169 in 2017, roughly 40 miles Northwest of Murmansk. The well-preserved paint on the wreckage included fragments of Dobrich’s famed ‘Yellow 10’, which adorned all of the aircraft he flew while with JG 5
