F-15C Eagle Mission-Flown Honeycomb Skin Relic Display, 71st FS 'IRONMEN'

Own and display a unique piece of military aviation history! This wall-hanging display combines a section of McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle honeycomb laminate skin from this aircraft's vertical stabilizer with Ron Cole's original artwork of this F-15 in action during Operation Desert Storm.

This F-15 flew with the famous 'IRONMEN' of the 71st Fighter Squadron, 1st Fighter Wing. While based at Langley Air Force Base in 1993, this section of stabilizer (part #88277) suffered a delamination in-flight and was replaced. Prior to that incident this component had been flown since its manufacture in February 1983 and during its service over Iraq.

Each display includes a fascinating piece of trailing edge material roughly 1x-2.5-inches and retains its original 'low-vis' light gray exterior camouflage paint.

Each display is signed and numbered - 1 of only 100.

Each of these handmade wall-hanging displays are 13x19-inches in overall size (artwork 11x17) and each is signed and numbered - 1 of 100.
