Battle of Britain: Luftwaffe Bf 109 E-7 1.(Jagd)/LG 2 Combat Loss Relic Display

Own an original piece of aluminum skin and control-surface linen with original camouflage paint from this true Bf 109 Battle of Britain combat loss:

Messerschmitt Bf 109E-7 1.(Jagd)/LG 2

This 109 E-7 was flown by Uffz. Werner Goetting on September 7, 1940, when he was shot down by Sgt. Bohumir Furst of 310 Squadron who was at the controls of his Hawker Hurricane Mk.I. Goetting bailed out and his aircraft crashed near Little Stour River, Wickhambreux, Kent at 17:35 hours and he was taken prisoner.

Partial excavations of this machine’s remains took place from the 1970s through 1990, one of which included major portions of the airframe including this piece, the antenna mast, and control column. Werner Goetting was present for that event.

The attached relic of original painted linen and aluminum was unusually well preserved due to the anaerobic nature of the soil and was the tip portion of the port horizontal stabilizer fabric-covered control surface. It was acquired by Ron Cole in February 2026 from the well-known English collector Andrew Cresswell.

Limited edition, signed and numbered, display is 11x17-inches (artwork size). Limited to only 120 (actual number not likely to exceed 60+/- examples - while supplies last.
