The Me 163 'Comet' was the only rocket-powered aircraft to see combat in World War II, with the Luftwaffe's Jagdgeschwader 400 based out of Brandis, Germany from February 1944 until the end of the war.

These pieces have been carefully cut from a larger aluminum panel from a JG 400 Me 163's upper surfaces, that was excavated in 2006 from an excavated area of the original Brandis airfield. Much of the 163's construction was of non-strategic materials such as steel, and parts such as these are extremely rare.

Each display includes a 1.5x1.5-inch section of exterior aluminum skinning from this aircraft, attached to the outside of the acrylic, with some exterior and interior paint. Some parts have rivets and/or traces of rare German yellow identification markings (first come first serve).
