Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Me 109 G-2 - Ace Heinrich Ehrler (208 victories) Aircraft

Authentic aluminum skin fragment from Messerschmitt Me 109 G-2/R6 (Werk Nu. 13605) - the aircraft flown by 'Ace of Aces' Luftwaffe pilot Heinrich Ehrler in which he scored his 200th conformed aerial victory!
This 109 was excavated in Russia in late 2003, and has since been undergoing restoration. These original parts from Ehrler's aircraft, which are not being used in the project, were sold to raise revenue in support of the effort.
Ehrler flew this aircraft (known at the time as 'Yellow 12') on the Eastern Front with 6./JG 5. Following his 200th 'victory' while flying this aircraft, he was transferred, and this 109 was then shot down by Russian flak while being flown by another pilot.
Original light gray camouflage paint - very well preserved by the Russian climate!
Display is 8.5x11 inches. Framed and ready to hang. Signed and numbered. Limited to 15.
