Japanese A6M2 Model 21 Zero Relic Display 1 of 12

Japanese Navy Nakajima A6M2 Model 21 relic display with 1x1 inch authentic fragment of this aircraft bearing green upper-surface paint over iron oxide red primer. This piece of original duraluminum was cut from a larger panel that was part of the aerodynamic fillet between the vertical and horizontal stabilizers and affixed with small flathead screws.
This aircraft was built in September 1943 by Nakajima, serial number 51553. It was deployed to Rabaul, Papua New Guinea - likely with the 582nd Kokutai (based upon remnants of the tail code seen in 1967). It was salvaged from Kavieng by Thomas King and is presently on display at the US Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio.
Display is 8.5x11 inches, signed and numbered - limited to only 12.
